  i feel the need... for speed!

 

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

well the past month has been pretty crazy. i had just about the worst holiday season ever. among other bad news i learned that my grandfather passed away after a long battle recovering from one of his many strokes. we will all miss poppi and his great sense of humor. the support and memories we've shared over the past few weeks have been great, thanks to everyone who has offered condolences and who came to visit. and special thanks to mother nature for the delightful NINE-HOUR trip home!

luckily there was a happier end to the year as i headed to new orleans with the SU peeps. we stayed at a "bed and beverage" which gives you an idea of the kind of vacation this was! it was cool tho, we had 2 apartments about a block from bourbon street. new year's eve was pretty crazy. it's very weird to walk down the street with a beer. at one point i left a bar with my beer, then when i tried to come back in they told me i couldn't bring my beer in. let me get this straight, i can walk around in the street with a beer, but i can't bring beer into a bar? ok... not gonna complain. also amusing was the fact that many of the windows along the street offer a pizza slice for $3.50, or a beer for $2. you get the picture. and to top it all off, mark proposed to heather at midnite! anyway there was lots of beer, beads, and boobies. that about sums it up. pics are up >>

on friday a bunch of us took jen to f1 for her birthday. it was pretty cool! you race in these karts that go about 30 mph but it feels like 90! i was surprised to see i was only 3 seconds behind the leader... until i saw that it was 3 seconds plus 4 laps. so i came in last, but i didn't die. which is cool. pics >>

saturday i had another birthday celebration for briana at the tiki room in boston. it was very summery. they have some yummy drinks in cool tiki cups which we wanted to steal, and everyone gets "leid"! their pu pu platters are pretty yummy too. definitely should have dressed for summer as it was about 9,000° in there! fun for the whole family. pics >>

other than that, plenty of exciting stuff coming up, like the pats in the playoffs, and the new season of 24!
