We left from Portland, Maine, crossing Casco Bay to "Long Island" by water taxi or ferry courtesy of Casco Bay Lines.  The trip took about 45 minutes (if I remember correctly).  From the dock, it was about a 15-minute walk to Ike's house at the end of the island. 

Clarke's store, about a mile from the house we stayed in, was where we bought last-minute beer, cooking supplies, and more.  It was also known as "THE store," as in the only store on the island.  21 people in one little house can really go through supplies!

We went back across to the "Maine-land" on Wednesday for the premiere of "Star Trek: Episode 1."  Apparently getting in to a big-time premiere of a movie is not a major problem in Portland, Maine - we showed up without tickets about 15 minutes before the show on opening day and had no problem finding 20 seats.
